A Voice To Be Heard!

Afraid of You ? October 30, 2009

I believe life lessons that foster personal growth are all around us.

Some time ago, I spent a few days alone in a friend’s place part relections and prayers and ,part pleasure. While I walking along the major road to a camp ground I stopped to take a break and absorb the beauty of the moment .

I sat in the middle of what appeared to formerly have been an impressive and dramatic view . The only sound I could hear was the wind brushing past me and my eyes were captivated with a vivid and spectacular view that I can only describe as Divine. I savored the moment with quiet meditation. As I thought about what I might share with you in my blog , it occurred to me that all of us can get to know ourselves better by asking ourselves questions about what we want? what is important? and who is important to us? I  believe you will find them useful in your journey to creating your ideal life—a life of fulfillment, joy and growth.

1. Why am I here?

I used to be  afraid of asking myself this question , This question gets to the core of your life mission. Every experience, every contact and every gift or talent that you have exists to support you in accomplishing your mission in life. If you are alive, you are here for a purpose. What will be the most important mark you make on the world? I want you to answer this question as a I aslo ask myself and answer it

2. What would I like to learn?

The most interesting people are those with a diversity of perspectives and experiences. Life is a learning journey. The more we learn, the more we grow … and the richer and deeper our life experience. Make a list of things you’d like to learn and make plans to learn them. Be willing to try something new, something that takes you outside of your comfort zone.I want to learn a lot of things………………………………………even about U…..

3. What brings me joy?

Often it is the simple things that bring us the most joy. Make a list of the things that bring you joy, then begin incorporating those things into your life on a daily basis. Don’t wait for a special occasion to purposefully make your life joyful. ME and YOU  deserve joy every day.

4. What am I most afraid of?

To be frank I have so many fears and that is to tell you that am human ,but am trying and learning everyday how to make my fears work for me positively .Fear can be our enemy, if we allow it to be. Fear also can be a great teacher and a catalyst for change. For example, fear that you will fail can motivate you to be creative and work hard so that you succeed. On the other hand, fear can keep you from living your highest potential if your fear paralyzes you from moving forward in your life. Once you identify your fear, you can begin determining ways to reduce the risk that your fear presents. Once you make the decision to overcome your fear, you find your fears are often more perception than reality. As a result, you fear less in your life than ever before.

5. What is one step I can take today to move closer to my ideal life?

Taking a step towards your dreams will generate excitement for the possibilities available to you. Write a vision of your ideal life and then move towards it one step at a time. Celebrate your steps along the way. Consider that following rules and tradition is not a prerequisite to success. Open your mind to creating your own opportunities—it’s what I call “entrepreneurial thinking.”mine might be slow , am not where I ought to be but am on my way

I hope these questions give you some fabulous “food for thought” and perhaps serve as a catalyst to move you forward in a key area of your life.

You might not turn out the way you want to be , but you will still turn out fine

love you still

Do people really matter ? October 27, 2009

Filed under: Life — charmingff @ 9:00 am

smiling babeI could be very naughty and silly in my thougts towards other people , but I have been doing a lot of studies about chosing my thoughts and what goes on , on my mind .It matters a great deal how we think about other people. We encounter people every day—in our homes and schools, at work, in the grocery store, on the highway .

Most of the time we don’t regard people much at all. We avoid eye contact, rarely offer a greeting, and only seem to notice others when we want something from them or they’ve done something to tick us off. There are two aspects to this matter of regarding others

The first is  is how we see them———————Are they just masses of flesh and blood, crashing around in our way or waiting to do something for us? Are they simply short or tall, irritating or funny, hard or pleasant to look at, beneath or above us? If we only look on the outer person—the one we can see with our eyes—we will have a hard time serving as conduits of grace and truth into their lives.we should regard others—not according to their outward presentation, but according to their eternal composition,This takes a little doing, because, frankly, the outer persons of the people we encounter each day can put up some serious obstacles. If you doubt this, ask others how they feel about you.I didnt know this myself until someday a friend of mine told me what she feels about me and I almost lost my mind .

The second thing is Others as we see them———————————–With our  fleshly concerns? Selfish interests. Daily tasks. Goals and objectives, dreams and aspirations, wants and likes, habits and routines. It’s very easy to conduct our daily lives through such lenses as these, so that everything always has to be just so, and everyone we meet simply has to get in line with our way of being-in-the-world.

Then lastly we see others Better than ourselves?—————————Our natural tendency is to think more highly of ourselves than we do of others. We must learn to esteem others better than ourselves. But again, the key to this is not firmer resolve or some patch-on formula. The key is the mind of Christ. It’s really that simple.

Let us press on to regard others no longer according to the flesh—theirs or ours. YES PEOPLE MATTER, BUT THE CANT MAKE YOU , YOU!!

love always

The Ram is on its Way October 21, 2009

Have you ever been in a situation so desperate that it looked hopeless?(Glynnis Whitwer)
Have you ever sat at the kitchen table wondering how you were going to pay the electric bill?  Have you ever stood at a door that’s been slammed in your face by an angry teenager and despaired at ever having a relationship with him again?  Have you ever had your heart broken so deeply that you wondered if you would ever feel whole again?
Sadly, we live in a broken world where desperate situations happen every day.  I know someone reading this devotion is wondering how she will make it through the day because her situation looks hopeless.  If that is you, I encourage you to keep reading.  I believe God has a message of hope for you today.
That message is found in the Bible, in the story of a man who was dealing with his own desperate situation.  His name was Abraham and he faced the greatest testing of his life.  After longing for a son for many years, God finally gave Abraham a boy, whom he named Isaac.  Abraham never imagined God would test his faith by asking him to sacrifice his son.  But it happened.
It had to have been the darkest day of Abraham’s life as he trudged up the mountain, with firewood strapped to his son’s back.  Every step took Abraham closer to what he believed to be the sad ending of a hopeless situation – the death of his son.  Yet in spite of his sorrow, Abraham trusted God. His heart wasn’t soaring with joy.  He wasn’t dancing up the mountain.  But he put one foot in front of the other.  Walking through the darkness of the situation; obeying His God’s commands.
Unbeknownst to Abraham, something else was walking up that mountain.  Quietly.  Out of sight.  On the other side of the mountain.  Something else was putting one foot in front of the other.  Only Abraham couldn’t see it.
For every step Abraham took, a ram on the other side of the mountain took a step.
All Abraham saw that day was his solitary journey of pain.  As he got closer to the top of the mountain, his dread must have increased.  I wonder if he asked himself any questions.  I would have.  I would have wondered why hadn’t God intervened?  Why hadn’t God stopped this testing?  Couldn’t God see that Abraham was a man of faith? Why test him in this way?
But there was no answer.  There was no voice from heaven.  And so Abraham kept obeying his God’s command.  He put Isaac on an altar and prepared to sacrifice his one and only son.
And just at that very moment, at the very last second, when it looked like the end had come, God spoke, stopping the sacrifice.  Abraham looked up and there caught in the thicket was a ram.  Abraham took his son off the altar, replaced him with the ram, and offered the sacrifice to God.

Abraham named that place “Yahweh-Yireh” or “The Lord Will Provide.”  And the story was written down for generations of God-followers to read.  It was written so that you and I today would read it as we face our own hopeless situations.  It was captured in print so that you and I would know that God is already planning for our provision.  We don’t see it.  We don’t hear it.  But we can trust that our God is at work.  On your behalf, and on mine.
I choose to trust God today.  A ram is on the way

Dear Lord, You know how desperate I am today. You know that my faith has wavered.  Although I want to trust You, I’m having trouble doing so.  I ask for Your intervention in my situation, and for an increase of my faith while I wait.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen

love you Still

To all Single Brothers with Love October 5, 2009

string man

Hey brother , how have you been? I hope, blessed going out and blessed coming in. I was sitting in the beauty shop falling asleep under the hair dryer. When I heard some  sisters conversating my ears were on fire. They were talking about their men, their lovers, and boyfriends.. and I concluded SINGLE MEN CARRY THE COLOURS …….

In the battlefield of life. Responsibility can  be seen as one’s duty. Faith is a prerequisite of duty. That’s why duty is never about doing things out of guilt. A MAN oriented to duty recognizes that nothing of consequence gets done unless someone puts himself on the line. In an age where men avoid responsibility like it’s a polyester leisure suit, a SINGLE MANwho is grace-motivated and duty-bound can make a difference in this world. The man carrying the colors is  included in the battle plan of life .

  • He knows his objective, and is to press on toward that objective with all diligence.
  • He musn’t  get caught up in the fray or turn back.
  • He must lead on toward the goal. He is the focus of the advance.
  • He must make all the troops fall in behind him. At the same time, he is  the focal point of  attack, for the enemy knows that if the colour-bearer is cut down, his fellow troops would  be routed in  confusion
  • When Facing the battles of life and unable to defend himself or retreat, this (SINGLE MAN)colour-bearer knows  that he is the source of hope in battle. When the banner is  lost, hope is  lost. But as long as the banner is flying, there is  reason to continue the fight.

make catoon

Between the physical fear of going forward and the moral fear of going backward, there is a predicament of exceptional awkwardness.”SINGLE BROTHERS, this “exceptional awkwardness” is real to you, I am sure. The fight can seem overwhelming, and tangible reward for the effort can seem scarce. Resolve is the faith that keeps you moving even when the fog of battle overwhelms you. Jesus had resolve it in going to the Cross. Paul had resolve in pressing on toward the goal. Resolve looks ahead. Resolve is clear-eyed, level-headed, sober-thinking. It is fueled by the burning reality that service in this life is the only battle that matters, and that God himself has placed you in it.No retreat, no surrender, no reserve.”

God made you a man for a purpose. Inherent in your masculinity is a call to step forward, not simply to take the flag, but first to ask for it and reach toward it. Masculinity is the raw material of leadership in God’s government, but you don’t need to wait for a tap on the shoulder to express your innate leadership call. You can lead by influence and example. If you are not being trained to lead, get your Bible out and train yourself.

SINGLE SISTERS  are always looking for men to step out in leadership in areas such as purity, discernment, decisions, and godly conversation. Like Nehemiah, the only things you need to make a real impact are a willingness to sacrifice, the faith to do your duty, and resolve to finish the task.A man oriented to duty recognizes that nothing of consequence gets done unless someone puts himself on the line. Nehemiahwas broken-hearted about the desolation of Jerusalem, but what set him apart was that he did something about it. It involved risk and hardship, but he saw that the occasion needed a MAN . He sought the Lord, heard God’s call, and did his duty.

Are you looking for fresh challenges in God, or are you bunkered down in survival mode? In an age where men avoid responsibility like it’s a polyester leisure suit, a SINGLE MANwho is grace-motivated and duty-bound can make a difference in this world.

single brother

Unless you can point your finger at the man who is responsible when something goes wrong, then you have never had anyone really responsible. The beauty of God’s way is that whether your singles group is counted by the hundreds or by the handful, you can be a compelling example of the richness of biblical manhood  if you embrace your distinctive call.

Brothers, carry the colours

God bless you

love you
